人是 ùi 動物 kàu 超人 ê 一條大索

M̄-koh, Zarathustra khòaⁿ hiah-ê lâng, kám-kak hòⁿ-kî. Jiân-āu i án-ne kóng:

Lâng sī ùi tōng-bu̍t kàu Chhiau-jîn ê chi̍t-tiâu tōa-soh ... chi̍t-tiâu khan kòe chhim-kheⁿ ê tōa-soh.

Keng-kòe hûi-hiám, tô͘-tiong hûi-hiám, hoan-thâu khòaⁿ hûi-hiám, khū-khū chùn hām thêng-khùn mā hûi-hiám.

Lâng ê úi-tāi chāi tī, i sī chi̍t-ê kiô, m̄-sī chi̍t-ê bo̍k-tek: lâng ê khó-ài chāi tī, i sī chi̍t-ê kòe-tō͘, mā-sī chi̍t-ê kàng-lo̍h.

Góa kah-ì hiah-ê tî-liáu kàng-lo̍h m̄-chai án-chóaⁿ seng-oa̍h ê lâng, in-ūi in sī kòe-tō͘ ê lâng.

Góa kah-ì úi-tāi ê khin-sī chiá, in-ūi in sī úi-tāi ê chông-pkah-ì chiá, sī ǹg-bāng boeh kàu tùi-hōaⁿ ê chìⁿ.

Góa kah-ì chit-khoán lâng: in bô seng khì thiⁿ-chheⁿ í-gōa chhōe kàng-lo̍h hām hi-seng ê lí-iû, jî-sī ūi thó͘-tē lâi hi-seng ka-tī, hō͘ Chhiau-jîn ê thó͘-tē ji̍t-āu ē lâi kàu-ūi.

Góa kah-ì ūi tio̍h chai lâi oa̍h ê lâng, i tui-kiû chai, sī ūi tio̍h ji̍t-āu Chhiau-jîn ē-tit oa̍h. Chū án-ne, i tui-kiû ka-tī ê kàng-lo̍h.

Góa kah-ì ūi tio̍h Chhiau-jîn lâi kut-la̍t, hoat-bêng ê lâng, ūi i khí-chhù, ūi i chún-pī thó͘-tē, tōng-bu̍t hām si̍t-bu̍t ê lâng: in-ūi án-ne lâi tui-kiû ka-tī ê kàng-lo̍h.

Góa kah-ì he kah-ì ka-tī bí-tek ê lâng: in-ūi bí-tek sī kàng-lo̍h ê ì-chì, sī chi̍t-ki ǹg-bāng ê chìⁿ.

Góa kah-ì he bô ūi ka-tī pó-liû chi̍t-sut-á cheng-sîn, m̄-koh boeh kui-ê chiâⁿ-chò ka-tī bí-tek ê lâng: chū án-ne i kō͘ cheng-sîn kiâⁿ-kòe hit-ê kiô.

Góa kah-ì he kā bí-tek tòng-chò sèng-chêng hām miā-ūn ê lâng: chū án-ne, i goān-ì ūi tio̍h bí-tek oa̍h lo̍h-khì, a̍h màì koh oa̍h.

Góa kah-ì he bô-ài siuⁿ chē bí-tek ê lâng. Chi̍t-ê bí-tek pí nn̄g-ê koh-khah sī bí-tek, in-ūi he koh-khah sī miā-ūn só͘ óa-khò ê kat.

Góa kah-ì he lêng-hûn khóng-khkah-ì ê lâng, i bô su-iàu lâng kám-siā, mā bô kâng sòe-siā: in-ūi i chóng-sī hō͘ lâng, bô boeh lâu hō͘ ka-tī.

Góa kah-ì chit-khoán lâng, i kiàn-siàu khòaⁿ tio̍h la̍k-kâu thêng-tiāⁿ tùi i iú-lī, soah án-ne mn̄g: "Góa poa̍h-kiáu bô láu-si̍t sioh?" ... in-ūi i goān-ì khut-ho̍k.

Góa kah-ì he seng kóng hó-ōe chiah hêng-tōng, só͘ chò chóng-sī khah-chē só͘ èng-ún ê lâng: in-ūi i tui-kiû ka-tī ê kàng-lo̍h.

Góa kah-ì he ūi bī-lâi ê lâng piān-kái, ūi kòe-khì ê lâng sio̍k-chōe ê lâng: in-ūi i goān-ì tùi hiān-chāi ê lâng khut-ho̍k.

Góa kah-ì he chí-chek i ê Sîn ê lâng, in-ūi i kah-ì i ê Sîn: in-ūi tùi i ê Sîn ê hùn-nō͘, i tio̍h khut-ho̍k.

Góa kah-ì he sui-bóng siū-siong, lêng-hûn iû-goân chhim-tîm, koh khéng tùi sió tāi-chì khut-ho̍k ê lâng: chū án-ne, i goān-ì kiâⁿ kòe kiô.

Góa kah-ì he lêng-hûn siuⁿ pá-móa soah bē-kì-tit ka-tī, koh kā it-chhè pau tī ka-tī ê lâng: chū án-ne it-chhè piàn-chò i ê kàng-lo̍h.

Góa kah-ì he ū chū-iû cheng-sîn hām chū-iû ê sim ê lâng: chū án-ne, i ê thâu put-kò sī i ê sim ê pak-lāi; m̄-koh, i ê sim chō-sêng i ê kàng-lo̍h.

Góa kah-ì hit-chióng lâng, in ná chhiūⁿ tîm-tāng ê hō͘-tih, chi̍t-tih chi̍t-tih ùi tà tī lâng téng-bīn ê o͘-hûn kàng-lo̍h: in pò kóng sih-nah tit-boeh lâi, koh jīn-hūn chò pò-bé-á ê kak-sek.

Lí khòaⁿ, góa sī sih-nah ê pò-bé-á, sī ùi hûn lâi ê chi̍t-tih tîm-tāng ê hō͘-tiám: m̄-koh, he sih-nah tō sī Chhiau-jîn.

M̄-koh, Zarathustra 看 hiah-ê 人, 感覺好奇. 然後伊 án-ne 講:

人是 ùi 動物 kàu 超人 ê 一條大索 ... 一條牽過深坑 ê 大索.

經過危險, 途中危險, 翻頭看危險, khū-khū 顫 hām 停睏 mā 危險.

人 ê 偉大在 tī, 伊是一个橋, 毋是一个目的: 人 ê 可愛在 tī, 伊是一个過渡, mā 是一个降落.

我佮意 hiah-ê 除了降落毋知 án-chóaⁿ 生活 ê 人, 因為 in 是過渡 ê 人.

我佮意偉大 ê 輕視者, 因為 in 是偉大 ê 崇拜者, 是 ǹg-bāng 欲到對岸 ê 箭.

我佮意這款人: in 無先去天星以外揣降落 hām 犧牲 ê 理由, 而是 ūi 土地來犧牲 ka-tī, 予超人 ê 土地日後 ē 來到位.

我佮意為著知來活 ê 人, 伊追求知, 是為著日後超人 ē-tit 活. 自 án-ne, 伊追求 ka-tī ê 降落.

我佮意為著超人來骨力, 發明 ê 人, ūi 伊起厝, ūi 伊準備土地, 動物 hām 植物 ê 人: 因為 án-ne 來追求 ka-tī ê 降落.

我佮意 he 佮意 ka-tī 美德 ê 人: 因為美德是降落 ê 意志, 是一支 ǹg-bāng ê 箭.

我佮意 he 無 ūi ka-tī 保留一屑仔精神, m̄-koh 欲規个成做 ka-tī 美德 ê 人: 自 án-ne 伊 kō͘ 精神行過彼个橋.

我佮意 he kā 美德當做性情 hām 命運 ê 人: 自 án-ne, 伊願意為著美德活落去, a̍h 莫 koh 活.

我佮意 he 無愛 siuⁿ 濟美德 ê 人. 一个美德比兩个 koh-khah 是美德, 因為 he koh-khah 是命運 só͘ 倚靠 ê kat.

我佮意 he 靈魂慷慨 ê 人, 伊無需要人感謝, mā 無 kâng 說謝: 因為伊總是予人, 無欲留予 ka-tī.

我佮意這款人, 伊見笑看著 la̍k-kâu 停定 tùi 伊有利, soah án-ne 問: "我跋筊無老實 sioh?" ... 因為伊願意屈服.

我佮意 he 先講好話才行動, só͘ 做總是較濟 só͘ 應允 ê 人: 因為伊追求 ka-tī ê 降落.

我佮意 he ūi 未來 ê 人辯解, ūi 過去 ê 人贖罪 ê 人: 因為伊願意 tùi 現在 ê 人屈服.

我佮意 he 指責伊 ê 神 ê 人, 因為伊愛伊 ê 神: 因為 tùi 伊 ê 神 ê 憤怒, 伊 tio̍h 屈服.

我佮意 he 雖罔受傷, 靈魂猶原深沉, koh 肯 tùi 小代誌屈服 ê 人: 自 án-ne, 伊願意行過橋.

我佮意 he 靈魂 siuⁿ 飽滿 soah 袂記得 ka-tī, koh kā 一切包 tī ka-tī ê 人: 自 án-ne 一切變做伊 ê 降落.

我佮意 he ū 自由精神 hām 自由 ê 心 ê 人: 自 án-ne, 伊 ê 頭 put-kò 是伊 ê 心 ê 腹內; m̄-koh, 伊 ê 心造成伊 ê 降落.

我佮意彼種人, in ná 像沉重 ê 雨滴, 一滴一滴 ùi 罩 tī 人頂面 ê 烏雲降落: in 報講 sih-nah tit 欲來, koh 認份做報馬仔 ê 角色.

你看, 我是 sih-nah ê 報馬仔, 是 ùi 雲來 ê 一滴沉重 ê 雨點: m̄-koh, he sih-nah tō 是超人.

Zarathustra, however, looked at the people and wondered. Then he spake thus:

Man is a rope stretched between the animal and the Superman—a rope over an abyss.

A dangerous crossing, a dangerous wayfaring, a dangerous looking-back, a dangerous trembling and halting.

What is great in man is that he is a bridge and not a goal: what is lovable in man is that he is an over-going and a down-going.

I love those that know not how to live except as down-goers, for they are the over-goers.

I love the great despisers, because they are the great adorers, and arrows of longing for the other shore.

I love those who do not first seek a reason beyond the stars for going down and being sacrifices, but sacrifice themselves to the earth, that the earth of the Superman may hereafter arrive.

I love him who liveth in order to know, and seeketh to know in order that the Superman may hereafter live. Thus seeketh he his own down-going.

I love him who laboureth and inventeth, that he may build the house for the Superman, and prepare for him earth, animal, and plant: for thus seeketh he his own down-going.

I love him who loveth his virtue: for virtue is the will to down-going, and an arrow of longing.

I love him who reserveth no share of spirit for himself, but wanteth to be wholly the spirit of his virtue: thus walketh he as spirit over the bridge.

I love him who maketh his virtue his inclination and destiny: thus, for the sake of his virtue, he is willing to live on, or live no more.

I love him who desireth not too many virtues. One virtue is more of a virtue than two, because it is more of a knot for one's destiny to cling to.

I love him whose soul is lavish, who wanteth no thanks and doth not give back: for he always bestoweth, and desireth not to keep for himself.

I love him who is ashamed when the dice fall in his favour, and who then asketh: "Am I a dishonest player?"—for he is willing to succumb.

I love him who scattereth golden words in advance of his deeds, and always doeth more than he promiseth: for he seeketh his own down-going.

I love him who justifieth the future ones, and redeemeth the past ones: for he is willing to succumb through the present ones.

I love him who chasteneth his God, because he loveth his God: for he must succumb through the wrath of his God.

I love him whose soul is deep even in the wounding, and may succumb through a small matter: thus goeth he willingly over the bridge.

I love him whose soul is so overfull that he forgetteth himself, and all things are in him: thus all things become his down-going.

I love him who is of a free spirit and a free heart: thus is his head only the bowels of his heart; his heart, however, causeth his down-going.

I love all who are like heavy drops falling one by one out of the dark cloud that lowereth over man: they herald the coming of the lightning, and succumb as heralds.

Lo, I am a herald of the lightning, and a heavy drop out of the cloud: the lightning, however, is the Superman.—
